The Left Coast Crime 2009 Board is pleased to announce details about the Book Awards to be offered in three categories at their Brunch Banquet Ceremony, March 11, 2009, at the Marriott Waikoloa Hotel, Hawaii.

To assist all voting convention registrants to make their selections, eligible books will be posted and updated on this web page.

Awards will be offered, for books published, in English (anywhere), between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008 in the following three categories:

THE LEFTY: Funny, humorous, smiling mystery
THE BRUCE ALEXANDER MEMORIAL HISTORICAL MYSTERY: A historical mystery, covering events before 1950
HAWAII 5-0: Law enforcement, police procedural

All publishers, authors and fans are invited to send in timely nominations by e-mail to trow @ interbridge.com,
OR copies of the nominated book may be sent (will not be returned) to Bill Gottfried, 10 Rustic Way, Orinda, CA 94563, USA.

All book nominations must have the following identifying features:
Name of the Author
Title of the Book
Date of Publication
Award Category

Ballots will be sent to all Registered Convention participants in early December 2008 and must be returned to the individual identified on the ballot by January 19, 2009 to be eligible for counting. The judges will reserve rights to review nomination categories based on the broad descriptions above.
